Setting Up a Calm, Productive Home Office
Planning a small home office is mostly about light, sound and storage. Start with the window: a desk placed sideways to natural light avoids glare on the screen and keeps your face evenly lit for calls.
Sound matters more than people expect. A rug, a bookshelf and soft curtains cut echo noticeably, which makes long video meetings far less tiring.
For storage, keep only what you touch every day within reach. Everything else goes into closed boxes. If you also run a website for your business, it helps to track how your pages grow in search the same way you track your desk setup — small regular improvements add up.
Finally, cable management: one power strip mounted under the desk and a couple of velcro ties keep the workspace calm and easy to clean.
